New Parent Support Group Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
After we had our daughter at Walter Reed National Medical Medical Center our nurse at the hospital informed us of a program offered to New Parents. The New Parent Support Home Visitation Program is awesome; Nurse Donohue came to the house periodically to check our daughter weight and ensure that she was thriving. The Nurse gave us so many great tips such as:
How to bond with baby.
How to child-proof your home and prepare it for baby’s arrival.
The stages of child development.
Skills, strategies and techniques to promote the growth and development of your child.
How to balance the demands of caring for your child with caring for yourself.
Cope with stress
Nurture children to promote growth and development
Answer questions about the everyday challenges of parenthood
Locate local services and resources that can help parents with young children
This program is available to Active or retired Navy and Marine Corps members and their families. To get more information visit the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
